For some reason people have decided that gay and lesbian unions / marriages are supposed to be a hot topic. From what i can tell the only reason this is such a hot topic is because the religious fanatics trying to say god says it's bad and many other ideas but we will get into that in just a bit. Well I'm just going to give a little of my opinion on it.
First of all I would like to state that I am a proud supporter of gay and lesbian marriage and rights. I do not see why anyone should be treated differently just for who the love or want to sleep with because if that was cool I wouldn't get dirty looks from my girlfriend when I laugh at guys marrying or getting with known sluts. Besides that who's it hurt if two dudes or girls get together other then your ego, what's that?.... O' yeah nobody other then that it's none of your business. Now other then my personal opinion, what happened to the separation of church and state?

In my opinion wouldn't denying someone the right to get married based on your beliefs be in violation of the first amendment, after all you are preventing the couple from following their beliefs. Then as stated in the Wikipedia:
denying same-sex couples legal access to marriage and all of its attendant benefits represents discrimination based on sexual orientation; several American scientific bodies agree with this assertion.[5][6][7][8]
Sexual discrimination should be prevented in the courthouse or church in my opinion too..... just saying,
