I have a feeling this would be one of those days, it is already dark outside with the sky a dark grey as the storm encloses on us. But of course that would not be true for me, I love the storms and enjoy the heavy rain.
Storms and rain have been around forever so it is easy to believe something like that would develop all kinds of little myths and mis-beliefs.
Like:
Some people believe that having an mp3 player or headphones on would increase the chances of being struck by lightning.
(This is not true, it's kind of like saying the wind turbulents generated from a seagull will change the course of an airliner. It's simply to small to change the course of something so big.)
Lightning never strikes the same place twice.
(This is simply not true, it is inevitable that it will at some point.)
Lightning rods attract lightning.
(Lightning rods do not attract lightning it just guides lightning that was already going to hit threw a safe route to the ground.)
In the end all I can say is forget all the old myths and what other people think of it and step outside. Enjoy the rain and enjoy the weather.
